born in 1978 in Portuguese Cova da Piedade, began his dance education at 15 at the Lisbon Conservatory School of Dance. His first engagement lead him to Ballet Gulbenkian where he worked with, among others,  Ohad Naharin, Meryl Tankard, Itzik Galili, Marie Chouinard, Stein Celis, Maurio Bigonzetti, Cesc Gelabert, Henrique Rodoyalho, Rodrigo Pederneiras and Didy Veldman, as well as some Portuguese choreographers such as Rui Horta, Clara Andermatt, Paulo Ribeiro and Rui Lopes Graça. He danced with Olga Roriz in 2002, and a year later began working to this day as an actor with the theatre company "Útero" under the direction of Miguel Moreira. He created “Welcome to Heaven” with Hillel Kogan in 2002. He began his collaboration with Cláudia Nóvoa in 2003 with “The Thrill of the Butterfly Hovering over a Cascade of Thoughts”, which was presented in Centro Cultural de Belém, Lisbon. He received the Ribeiro da Fonte “Best Newcomer” award in 2004. In the same year, he danced in Cláudia Nóvoa’s piece “Bundles of Solitude, Cold Solitude, Clouds of Solitude, Solitude Amongst All”. In 2005 he worked as a performer in “Colina”, a project of tanzhaus nrw, Düsseldorf, as well as “O Grito do peixe” by Clara Andermatte.
