Taktstelle - DIE Musiktanzreihe

a cooperation between Studio laborgras and Philipp Selalmazidis (TablaTiger).

Contemporary dance meets rock, pop and jazz music, presented at Berlin club stages. These evenings promise to witness live, where the dancers and musicians move together and how far they can outgrow their repertoire.

With the Previews at Studio laborgras, a short form of the initial collaborative approaches will be presented to the public. Afterwards, the Studio Bar offers an opportunity to exchange thoughts between Audience and Performers in an informal setting.

For the Performance Event at the Lido, Taktstelle will turn the corner. After eight successful evenings at the Theaterkapelle in Friedrichshain between November 2012 and June 2013, Taktstelle will celebrate its debut at the Lido in Berlin Kreuzberg on January 17th at 21:00h.

Since their formation in 1999 the Berlin based band MICATONE became a blueprint for the Nujazz genre linking club sounds like Drum & Bass, House and Trip Hop, with Folk and Jazz. After three successful electronic albums recorded and released as part of Jazzanova’s label Sonar Kollektiv, they started to explore a more back-to-the-roots way of making music. Jazz singer LISA BASSENGE and her band have all been long-time friends and their love for live touring has bonded them even stronger. They now hit us with a luscious new album replacing computers and beatmaking machines by recording the whole album entirely live. ‚WISH I WAS HERE‘ is the pure essence of their musical evolution. Their sound is deep and mature integrating elements of JAZZ, SOUL, SURF, BEAT and BLUES.

Casino Gitano
The 10 members of the Berlin based multiethnic gypsy band are really setting their audience on fire with their unconventional und wild mixture of flamenco punk and underground tango. An unforgettably rapid symbiosis of speed polka, hardcore tap-dancing and gypsy folk.
