The Workshop-Lab 3 will start every day with a Technique Class from 10:00 - 12:00 h

Traditional in structure, the class begins with a simple warm up utilising information from several anatomically based movement systems (Klein, Bernard, Release) and informed by a variety of modern and contemporary dance practices (Cunningham, Brown, Dumas). The majority of the class is devoted to dancing phrase material, working with processes involving repetition, integration and interpretation.

In the Afternoon during the Lab time, 12:30 - 17:00 h, we will work with three distinct practices and investigate the ways they inform and impress upon each other.

SET MATERIAL PRACTICE 12:30 - 14:00 h
Each week we will collaboratively produce set material using devising structures inspired by Brown, Rainer, Paxton et al. We will work intensively and rigorously with the material we generate together; questioning, affirming, abandoning, re-encountering it each and every time we dance it. We will then work on unison dancing this collaboratively generated material.

IMPROVISED MOVEMENT PRACTICE 14:30 - 16:00 h
Authentic Movement practice, witnessed moving with eyes closed. Thirty minutes of moving or watching, fifteen minutes of discussing, then switch roles and repeat.

TALKING PRACTICE 16:00 - 17:00 h
Talking to each other about anything at all or anything that arises from these particular dancing experiences. We will talk in groups, in pairs and to ourselves.
