Lou Mallozzi is a sound artist who makes sound installations, performances, works for CD and broadcast, improvised music, sound design for cinema and media installations, drawings, visual installations, and other projects. He regularly collaborates with other artists and musicians – past (and present and hopefully future) collaborators have included Michael Zerang, Fred Lonberg-Holm, Hal Rammel, Gustavo Matamoros, Charlotte Hug, Michael Vorfeld, Antonia Contro, Maurizio Pellegrin, Sandra Binion, Isa Wiss, Carlos Zingaro Alves, Guillermo Gregorio, Birgit Uhler, Mark Dresser, Frances-Marie Uitti, George Lewis, 48 Nord, and many others. He has received grants and residencies to pursue his work, including four Illinois Arts Council fellowships, a residency at the Rockefeller Foundation’s Bellagio Study Center in Italy, Artist-in-Residence positions at Harvestworks New York and Spritzenhaus Hamburg, and several faculty grants and residencies from The School of the Art Institute of Chicago. Mallozzi is co-founder and executive director of Experimental Sound Studio www.experimentalsoundstudio.org, a nonprofit sonic arts organization in Chicago, and he is on the faculty of The Sound Department of the School of the Art Institute of Chicago.

Lena Soon-hee Meierkord, born 1976 in Korea, studied dance at P.A.R.T.S. in Brussels. Since she has worked with a.o. Jo Fabian/department. LaborGras, Cie Toula Limnaois, Irina Pauls/Leipziger Tanztheater, Karine Ponties/Cie Dame de Pique, LOD/Laurence Malstaf and Dominique Pauwels, Tamer Yigit, Laurie Young. She collaborated with other artists and was invited as artist in residence to Tanzhaus Wasserwerk in Zurich, fabrik Potsdam, Tanzfabrik Berlin, Festival des 7 collines St. Etienne, Künstlerhaus Ahrenshoop. Since 2007 she is teaching for Tanzzeit Stralsund. „(making of) District“ a collaboration with Korean Choreographer Hyoung-min Kim was presented at Tanztage Berlin 2009, Dock11 Berlin, XtraFrei Festival Bremen, SIDance (Seoul International Dance Festival), IETM Berlin 2010.

Studio LaborGras - Saturday Evening Improvisation

Born in Switzerland, Arthur Stäldi began his dance training in Luzern (Switzerland) and Rotterdam (Holland).  Following his education, he worked for several state theatres in Switzerland and Germany and founded the dance group COAX in 1989 with dancer Rica Blunck in Hamburg. In the summer of 1994, he left COAX to become a co-founder of the collective LaborGras and has since been involved in numerous international projects with other artists and choreographers. Of these collaborations, the longest and most intimate one remains with choreagrapher David Hernandez. Since 1996 he has taught contemporary dance technique regularly in various institutions in Germany, including the Ernst Busch Schule and Stadttheater Kassel and workshops in Germany, Switzerland, Denmark, Columbia, Croatia and others. In summer 2007 he was the coach and training director for the TanzMedienAkademie project at ‘pèlerinages KUNSTFEST WEIMAR’ in Weimar.

Michael Thieke is currently involved in a number of projects which focus on diverse and contrasting facets of his musical interest,  such as experimental song forms, collectively composing projects, improvising collectives, and music on the fringes of jazz. Equally at home across a broad range of musical environments, Michael is an explorer of timbre, rhythm, melody and noise. His research led to a greater focus on the minutiae of sound and the power of simplicity. He played his music on festivals in Europe, Canada, Japan and the USA and is member of bands like The International Nothing, Splitter Orchester, The Magic I.D., Hotelgäste und The Pitch.

Olivier Toulemonde, lives and works in Berlin. Improvisation, Composition, Phonography. Plays acoustic objects and amplified springs. In 1993, he was a co-founder of "Collectif Ishtar" (in Bourg-en-Bresse) together with 20 other musicians and dancers. A year later, he joined "Collectif et Compagnie" (in Annecy), where he first started working with electro-acoustic music.
Improvisation: He plays improvised music with acoustic objects or amplified springs. He works on listening, sound research and relationship between sound and space. He has played in several festivals, such as Musique Action (Vandoeuvre), Densités (Fresne-en-Woëvre), Rencontres de musiques Spontanées (Rimouski - Canada), NPAI (Niort), LEM (Barcelona), Glasgow International festival, Re:Flux (Moncton - Canada), Festival des Musiques Innovatrices (St Etienne), Jazz à Luz, Curva Minore (Palermo), Humanoise Congress (Wiesbaden), Sonorités (Montpellier), Musiques Libres (Besançon), Beta Project (Pau), Huis a/d Werf (Utrecht), Minim (Barcelona), Remor (Girona), Troubles (Brussels), Blurred Edges (Hamburg), Contemporaneamente (Lodi)... Plays often with N. Desmarchelier, M. Doneda, C. Sehnaoui, M. Forge, A. Palier, J. Wright...

Michael Vorfeld, musician and visual artist, based in Berlin, plays percussion and self designed stringed instruments and realises electro-acoustic sound pieces. He works in the field of improvised, experimental music and sound art and is often involved in site-specific art projects. He realises light installations and performances with light, works with photography and film. Besides his solo activities he is a member of various ensembles and collaborates with artists from different art forms. Ute Wassermann is known as a vocal soloist and composer/performer for her extraordinary, many-voiced and extreme vocal sound-language, which she has brought into experimental/contemporary music in diverse ways. She has developed techniques to “mask” the voice using birdcall-whistles, or resonant objects, and designs sound-installations.
She has performed  throughout Europe, Australia and Asia with musicians of the Berlin and London scene  and in duos including Richard Barrett, Aleks Kolkowski and Birgit Ulher, with “speak easy” (  Phil Minton / Thomas Lehn / Martin Blume), “Les Femmes Savantes” or  fORCH.
