work in progress - Open Door 3

Jack Webb's work is strongly routed in dance, improvisation and crosses over in to performance art. It often explores transformation of the human body, altered states of consciousness, mental transportation, hightened emotional states and distortion of the body, objects, costume and surroundings. The work is often visceral, startling and ultimately explores 'the feeling of being alive'and explores ways in which to find this feeling and express it through dance and performance.

This period of research is part of a research project entitled Quartet. The project includes dancer and choreographer Rosalind Masson and sees the the two dancers exploring how it is to make choreography for one's self and for each other. During this phase of research at Labor Gras Jack will work alone whilst being mentored by Jeremy Wade with over all mentoring from Daniel Squire (Merce Cunningham Dance Company, Michael Clark Company).

The project is generously supported by the Choreographic Futures Scheme and Creative Scotland.
